国内有数の工業地帯である中京エリアには内陸活断層が数多く分布し、明治24年（1891年）の濃尾地震や昭和20年（1945年）の三河地震では甚大な被害が出ました。また、海域の活断層や南海トラフ巨大地震の発生も危惧されています。本海陸シームレス地質情報集は、2017から2019年にかけて実施された本沿岸域の調査･研究の結果をまとめたものです。
