The Geological Survey of Japan is organized as shown in the diagram below, and its principal mission is to disseminate and utilize the geological information as foundational national baseline data. As a member of the AIST Group — integrated with AIST Solutions Inc. — it collaborates with the Integrated Research Centers, newly established under AIST’s the 6th Medium- to Long-term Plan, to undertake research and development aimed at addressing societal challenges.
